Garrett {Senior 2012} l Mobile, AL Photographer

Posted on May 15, 2012

I watched Garrett grow up playing baseball with my younger brother. Our families spent many hours in ballparks together over the years! I’m still in denial that Destry has graduated and now finished his first year of college.. but now that kids a year younger than him are graduating I think it is about time I faced the music! ;)

Garrett is a all around great guy who makes his parents so proud. He’s going to be playing baseball at Faulkner next year. I know that he will do great there, and go on to continue to achieve a lot! We started his session in a field in his neighborhood, and then headed over to Bryant’s baseball field.

Congratulations, Garrett!

Cowart Family l Mobile, AL Photographer

Posted on May 11, 2012

I met this sweet family at Mobile Botanical Gardens on a Sunday afternoon. The second they pulled Tucker out of the car, he was grinning ear to ear! At that point he’d already sucked me in. :) Also HOW GORGEOUS are his blue eyes?!?
Baby was happy the whole shoot, which made our time together so easy and fun. :His parents are completely smitten with him, and it’s easy to see why!

It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with COLOR, so I obviously had love at first sight when Megan showed me this quilt!

It was great meeting you guys! I hope we get to hang out again sometime in the future. :)

Blakeli + Donovan {Engaged}

Posted on May 5, 2012

I met Blakeli a few months ago. When we were emailing back and forth about a place to meet, I suggested Starbucks. Except what I really typed was Target. and she agreed to it! She was willing to have a meeting with me at Target. That’s when I knew we’d be friends.

No worries, I caught the mistake before the meeting, and was able to sip on my routine chocolate chip frap like with most of my other brides!

When I met up with Blakeli and Donovan in downtown Hattiesburg, he immediately spotted the book in my car and said “WHO IS READING MOCKINGJAY?!” That is when I knew Donovan and I would be friends. ;)

These two love birds will be getting married on December 29 this year, at the same venue where J and I tied the knot. I’m looking forward to getting to know them better, and can’t wait for their big day!

As we were leaving the shoot, Donovan said “I actually had fun!”. I actually had fun with you guys as well, and I hope you love your portraits!

In the Sun {Random Happies}

Posted on May 4, 2012

When we were younger, my best friend Sara and I would talk about “friend crushes” we had. These were people (usually celebs) that we were sure would want to be our pal if they got to know us. Did everyone do this, or just us? Either way, I don’t still do this I totally still do this.

Zooey is on my list. I love her wardrobe. Her weird sense of humor. and every bit of music that She and Him has released. I know a lot of people have jumped on the Zooey train since her show “New Girl” hit primetime, but I’ve been a fan since I googled her after watching “Elf” for the first time in high school.

As a former dancer, I recognize that she should never really do choreographed dancing in public. But she does. & that is why this video makes my list of random happies. ENJOY!

Bryant Prom 2012 l Mobile, AL Photographer

Posted on May 2, 2012

 ”Party like a rock… party like a rock star. Party like a rock… party like a rock star.”

That was our jam back in 2007. ;)

Remember your prom night? Justin and I always loved school dances. There is nothing like being 18 and at your Senior Prom!

The last time I shot pre-prom photos, there was a torrential down pour.. so I was so relieved to have some sun for this group of kids. I was able to do some of their senior portraits, so it was fun to be able to catch up and see them looking all glamorous!

You all looked fabulous! I hope you had a night to remember. :)

Jana + Aaron {Married} l Mobile, AL Photographer

Posted on May 2, 2012

I love happy people. This wedding was full. of. happy. people. When you’re surrounded by joy, how can you not be obsessed with your job?

Jana and Aaron got married on April 7, 2012 at the Hermitage-Rippey Estate. Aaron (lovingly called Elmo) was a dear friend of mine in high school. It was such an honor to be a part of this day for both him and his lady! Jana is just precious, and I had so much fun hanging out with her through her whole wedding process.

They did a first look, so we had a lot of time for fun portraits! I hope they love their photos as much as I do. Here is a little peek into their gallery!

Love you guys and wish you so much happiness in your future together!

Maxie Twins {First Birthday} l Mobile, AL Photographer

Posted on April 19, 2012

It’s my little repeat babies that remind me that time FLIES! I did Tara’s maternity pictures and pictures of her sweet twin boys a year ago. They are now turning ONE! I can’t believe how much they’ve grown. They are both so cute, but how different do they look? I love it! Their little personalities are completely different too. It’s funny how genetics work!

Rebecca {Button Up Sunshine}

Posted on April 13, 2012

Rebecca was our second button up sunshine “model for a day!” :)
She is a spunky 9th grader who had us laughing the whole time. It was a not so pretty day, but she made the most of it and I’m very happy we didn’t end up letting the weather win out and cause us to cancel. She came with her own arsenal of ideas and poses, so it took very little direction for me to do this shoot! Love a lady that’s prepared and knows what she wants. ;)

Rebecca, I had so much fun getting to know you! Thanks for getting me up to date on what’s cool. I made sure to google Cody Simpson when I got home. ;)

Also, as a fun little side note, here is a great article written about Kelley and her work with Button Up Sunshine!
